Phil was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Ann Metzger, and his grandson, Blake Thompson.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Jennifer Metzger; his daughter, Nicole (Ryan) Tyree; his step-daughter, Angela (Greg) Thorne; his grandchildren, Michael Thorne, Johnathan (Rachel) Thorne, Dylan Thompson, and Carter Thompson; and his five brothers, Ted, Jack (Kim), Donnie (Sharon), Kenny (Vickie), and Tim.
Phil will be remembered for his immeasurable love for his family, his quirky sense of humor, and his unmistakable, boisterous laugh that could fill a room. He took great pride in wanting his lawn to look like a golf course, though he adamantly voiced his displeasure at the work it took to achieve such status.
Above all, Phil cherished his family and friends. His humor, laughter, and large personality brought joy to all who knew and loved him. His unexpected passing leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones, but the memories that he created will remain.
