Raymond Rogers, 90, entered into eternal rest with the Lord Thursday, June 16, 2016 at his home. He was born August 20, 1925 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Alex and Vernie Rogers. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Sibyl Turner Rogers, two brothers, Jesse (Ann), Hubert (Joann), and one sister, Gladys (Dallas) Meadors.
Those left to cherish his life and memory are two brothers, Carl (Zelma) and Kenneth (Shirley), a sister-in-law, Joann Rogers, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He served the United States of America during World War II and was Honorably Discharged in 1946. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Medal; Bronze Star Medal; Distinguished Unit Badge; Victory Medal; and Croix De Guerre with Palm for his service. In 1958 he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and began a life of service and ministry for the Lord. He was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Temple for many years.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday and after 10:00 am Monday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Rd., Fairdale, Kentucky 40118. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home chapel with burial and military honors to follow in Mt. Holly Cemetery in Fairdale, Kentucky.
