ANDERSON, RICHARD V. "POOZIE," 75, of Louisville, went to be with his Saviour Jesus Christ on January 2, 2012. Richard was born August 16, 1936 in Louisville and grew up in the community of Camp Taylor. He graduate from Southern High School in 1955 and married Sally Englert of Fairdale in 1956. That same year they moved to Los Angeles, CA, where Richard learned the fine art of paperhanging from his father, Walter Anderson. The two established the company of W.C. Anderson & Son Fine Wallcovering and worked for such notables as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, George Burns, Ray Charles, Neil Diamond, the Marx Brothers and many others. Richard moved his family to Thousand Oaks, CA in 1971 and then to Shepherdsville, KY in 1981. He retired from the wallcovering business in 2006.
Preceded in death by his parents, Walter Charles Anderson and Lillian Esma Oliver; and stepbrothers, Stuart Godfrey Peebles and Gary Neil Peebles.
Survived by his wife, Sally Anderson of Louisville; daughters, Robin Casteel (Steve) of Camano Island, WA and Linda Anderson of Shepherdsville, KY; son, Scott Anderson (Beverly) of Nashville, TN; 10 grandchildren, Karrie Tish, Rachel Shorter, Danielle Tish, Bejamin Casteel, Lindsay Pointer, Victoria Casteel, Harrison Casteel, Samantha McCurdy, Michael McCurdy, and William McCurdy; 11 great-grandchildren, Miranda, Kristofer, Madison, Natalie, Savannah, Samantha, Blair, Dena, Hailey, Jackson and Phoebe; brothers, Walter Anderson (Donna) of Lebanon Junction, KY and David Anderson (Emily) of Cypress.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home. Funeral is noon Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brookland Cemetery. Reception to be held at Hebron Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
