Robert was born to Jack and June Baxter in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 7, 1952. He was the oldest of four brothers and was known to get in his fair share of trouble. Robert called several places home outside Louisville, including Philadelphia, PA, and Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was a talented mason, craftsman, and gardener. You could often find him hanging with friends over drinks or working in his garden. He spent his free time taking pictures and caring for his three beloved cats.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, and daughter, Candy. He is survived by his children, April and (Joe Skinner), Adam and (Sara Schweiss), and Robb and (Wendy Read). His grandchildren also survive him: Shane and Amaya Baxter, Avery and (Kenzie Read), Lydia Read, and his great-grandchild Aaron Read. He also leaves behind his three brothers, Phillip, Richard, and John Baxter, and numerous friends and family.
Robert's family will host a memorial service on Thursday, August 31, at 1:00 p.m. The service will be held at St. Teresa of Calcutta (formerly St. Jerome). In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to I Would Rather Be Reading in Robert's name.
