Robert A. French, 90, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. He was born October 1, 1925 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late David A. and Margaret Brangers French. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Agnes Marie French and daughter, Susie Shofner. He was the youngest of 11 children, was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII in the Pacific, retired from International Harvester, and enjoyed tinkering around his house.
He is survived by his sons, Harry French (Billie) and Charlie French (Young); grandchildren, Robert and John French; and great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrea, Madison, Charlene, and Avery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Rd. Fairdale, Kentucky. His Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Monday at the funeral home with entombment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
