Steven Wayne Goodwin, Sr. 68, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He graduated Ahrens High School in 1968, attended Bellarmine College, 1970-1973 UK, Jefferson Community College, 1981-1983 University of Louisville. He was employed at South Central Bell from 1969-1974, Boys Scouts of America from 1974-1989, Louisville Metro Parks 1989-2001, City of Louisville, Public Works 2001-2004, Louisville Zoo 2004-until retirement in 2013. He also volunteered for Fairdale Volunteer Fire Department, Fireman 1975-1985, Kentucky EMT Bullitt County, 1978-1979, Boys Scouts of America, Scout Master, Troop 346, 1972-1975, Sponsored young men for the Eagle Scout Program, Project Safe Place 1984-1990, Fairdale High School Football Coach 1986-1992, Guest Speaker, Kentucky Chapter, NRPA, 2000, 2001 & 2002. He was a member of Fairdale Christian Church. His hobbies were all outdoor activities; hiking, camping, water sports, kayaking, swimming, pottery & gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Beverly, son, Steven Goodwin, Jr. (Stephanie), grandchildren, Tyler Goodwin & Hannah Goodwin, great grandchildren, Steven Wayne Good III "Trace" & Sawyer Brandon Goodwin sister, Pam Wiggs (Dave) & aunt Glenna Ford.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 12pm at Fairdale Christian Church 9000 Brown Austin Road with visiting from 10 AM until time of service.
