

He was retired from American Standard Brass Assembly and St. Jerome Catholic Church. He was a KY Colonel and avid UK fan. Bill was the last original founder of St. Jerome Church (now St. Teresa of Calcutta Church), where he also coached the boys basketball team and helped build the St. Jerome School and old church. He and his good friend, Frank Dillman worked the picnic dinner ticket booth for 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Thornsberry Jones; grandsons, Gram Ray Pomerleau, David M. Jones; special friend, Jerry Roberts; parents, Allie and Isabell Jones; siblings, Dorthy Jean, Bert, Jim, Tom, Sam, Allie Jones, Anna Ruth Ray, and Archie Saddler.
Bill is survived by his children, David Jones (Charlene), Darlene Jones, Gale Pomerleau (Ray), Karen Lambert (Bobby), Mark Jones (Sherry), Dale Jones, Craig Jones (Angie); 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Patsy Blair and Charles “Squack” Jones.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 2-7pm at Fairdale McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road, Fairdale, KY. Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11am at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church. Burial to follow at Mt. Holly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make donations to the Special Olympics, St. Jude, Crusade for Children, or Hosparus of Louisville.
