I knew Adrian from Dimensiondata since joining the team 18 months ago. Adrian’s help getting me onboard was invaluable in those early days. 

Events conspired against us and we never got a chance to meet in person even though we were on the same team and talked many times during the week. This gave rise to the ‘in joke’ between us, that as we had never met, one or both of us were mad and were just imagining the other’s existence. The truth is that Adrian never needed to be physically present in the room ‘to be present’ - his warmth, can do attitude and brilliant sense of humour did this for him.

I cannot imagine the pain of losing him so young. He will always remain present in my heart, thoughts and memories.

I worked with Adrian over the last four years, and I will miss him because he wasn't like anyone else in the corporate world.  His boundless enthusiasm, incredibly friendly and positive nature, and most of all his readiness to have a (very big) laugh are things I and my whole team will miss hugely.  

I am so very sorry for your loss, and for everyone whose world will have less laugher in it without Adrian.



I knew Adrian through work at Dimension Data, and although most of the time our discussions were work related, we both preferred talking about sailing and generally being outdoors and away from the day to day.

What a nice guy. Always positive - with a big voice and a big heart.

George and I loved every second we spent with you & Adrian, and we laugh when we think back on some of our sailing adventures together. Barbara and family, I am so very sad to read of Adrian’s passing.  I worked with him in Corporate Strategy at IBM and we became friends. I don’t think I ever met a more genuinely kind and caring man at IBM. He loved you and the kids beyond measure. Saying a prayer for all of you tonight. May he Rest In Peace 

... this is writing I never imagined that I would do ... Adrain and I met at IBM as he was on the rise in his career working at the old IBM brand called Tivoli ... he came to work every day with a smile and attitude that just made you happy yourself.   Adrian was always such a positive influence and joy to work with.  He and I talked careers, work, and most often about our kids and what our plans were outside of work.   Adrian was always on the go, always up for an adventure, always looking at the glass half full and it was wonderful to enjoy the time that we had together as we worked.   As all things do, our daily work life separated in to seeing each other from time to time, and when we did it was like the last time we'd seen each other was yesterday.  Picking up or friendship, discussion and laughter right where we left off ... the impact of losing Adrian is that our last time we left off, was our last time for all of us in this life.  I suspect in some way we'll all find Adrian again, with this smile, his positive attitude waiting for us making a joke with that great voice he had with a touch of slavic accent about what took us so long ... For Adrian's family my sincere condolences ... 

It was my pleasure to know and work with Adrian. I can only describe him as delighted to be a dad. His children were his life. He was so incredibly happy to be a father. His skills at work were great, but there was such a light in his eyes when he showed me pictures of his children. We were all lucky to have him in our lives. 

Barbara.....I am so saddened about the loss of your beloved husband...and my heart and thoughts were with you all today, at the funeral.  I must have met you at Sherri and George Homme's wedding (I am Sherri's mother), and she has shared with me all along, about Adrian's heroic fight with cancer.  I have prayed for him, and have no answer as to why God did not choose to heal him.  I lost my own precious soul mate two years ago, so I know the intense pain you are feeling...and my heart goes out to you, and to your family.  Please know that you are not alone.  Distance does not stop the love and prayers that go out to you all.

Adrian was one of the nicest, most family oriented, moral people that i had the pleasure of knowing while i was at IBM. He could make you smile through most any situation and cared very much about the welfare of all his employees and people he worked with.  I met his wife, whom Adrian adored and his twins that he cherished. We shared a bunch of great times traveling together or at conferences or just in his office trying to figure things out. I missed Adrian a ton when i left IBM and i miss him so much more now. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children.  

Working with Adrian on the tools team for WebSphere in an earlier age, what I remember most is all the laughter.   Adrian always brought a smile and something to lighten things up.   Sorry to hear of your passing, and that I couldn't make the service today.  My prayers are with your family.

I had the honor of meeting and working with Adrian while at IBM. I was fortunate enough to be in China one week where Adrian was there as well. He energized me to hike a small section of the Great Wall.  It was 20 degrees and the wind was blowing but somehow Adrian made it seem like fun. He was always upbeat with a smile to share. He could change a tense moment into a laughable opportunity. His voice and expression would heighten when we talked about his family.  It saddens me to think he left us so early. My condolences to his family

Adrian is the first child I have ever met closely, because I am his cousin, his only cousin. We have always had a long distance relationship: he in Constanta, me in Piatra Neamt and after he left Romania: he in North America, me still in Piatra Neamt. Despite the distance and the rare and short moments we spent together, we had a warm relationship, feeling with intensity every important moment of our lives. For the rest of my life I will regret I couldn't do more to see each other more often. I thought we have plenty of time when our children will be big enough to take care of themselves. Unfortunately, no more time left.

I wish I would be there to warmly embrace my aunt Monica and my uncle Ion, my cousin Barbara and my nephews Carmen and Alex in these terrible moments!

Constanta on the Black Sea, your home town. This is where your journey started, many years ago, when you left Romania. For a while, we lost contact with you. Sometime after that, out of the blue, we received an envelope with a cassette tape. You had recorded a message and the American Top 40 for us.  We were so young and music was our life and our love and our friendship. The AT 40 and your voice were priceless. A year after your departure our high school received a thank you letter from your new school in Canada. You were such a brilliant student, they felt the need to make this gesture. Our heart melted. You were brilliant, indeed. I remember when we struggled with the Rubik’s Cube, one day. You said, it’s easy, you need to follow some steps… and solved it right away. Years have passed, we were no longer 16. We had the chance to meet again and again. We were blessed with families, kids. During one of your visits back home, you brought us a photo of our group, “FRIENDS FOREVER” engraved on the silver frame. I never thought these words would break our hearts so soon. We struggle to comprehend the news. We keep hearing your laugh, your voice. Your kindness is still warming our hearts. You will always be with us, our friendship will last forever. Heartfelt condolences to Barbara, the kids and your parents. I wish there was anything in the world to confort them. Rest In Peace, dear friend.

Adrian and I met at a Raleigh Ski and Outing club get together in the 90s and shared many fun times hiking and backpacking together. As only children, we shared a lot of similarities in our lives and sometimes connected in a way that we felt siblings might.  We had a relationship that was never disrupted by distance or time. No matter how long since we last spoke, we could pick up right where we left off.  Adrain, I will miss your friendly laugh terribly.  

I worked with Adrian back when he was at the IBM Toronto Lab in Canada. Although it was a number of years ago, Adrian left such a positive impression on me not just as a dedicated employee and outstanding technology leader but the value he placed on family and friendships.   It was such a pleasure to have worked with Adrian at IBM.  I am very sorry and shocked to hear about this very sad news.  My thoughts and prayers to Adrian's family and friends.

The loss of Adrian is causing profound sadness in all of us, his old IBM friends. Note that i say friends, not just former colleagues, because it was impossible to simply remain colleagues with someone with Adrian’s smile, optimism, warmth,  positive attitude, and love of life.  
Adrian was always there for me with his cool head and an impeccable sense of humor, he tempered my antics when i grew impatient or frustrated, he even let me sail his beloved boat despite the fact that i had no clue what i was doing, and he was able to laugh off my snoring  in the tight quarters of his boat cabin even though i kept him  and Mike nearly sleepless all night.
I loved Adrian. He left a big void in my life. 

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Adrian’s passing. I hadn’t talked to him in a while but I sent him something just this week. I worked with Adrian at Tivoli and then for him in System X.  I liked him and respected him always. He was my manager when I retired from IBM in 2013 and hosted my retirement  dinner.  I truly missed him when I left IBM. We tried to schedule time to get together but could not.  It’s too late. Rest In Peace dear Adrian.

Adrian was a valued coworker at IBM for many years.  He was a true professional, in working with his peers and with clients.  It is tragic to see such a vibrant life shortened.  We will remember him fondly and express condolences to his family.  Jamie and Richard Thomas

I had the honor of working for Adrian twice during my time at IBM. He was the best manager I have ever had.  He was a loving and caring person. We had many good conversations on our business trips together about so many things.  We remained good friends even after he and I moved on to other opportunities. One of the things that I loved hearing about was his sailboat adventures. He had a real zest for life.  He was a true professional at his job, but there was a down to earth person that anyone could relate with.  He had a very deep love for his wife and kids and spoke of them often.   I am going to miss calling him and checking in with him.  He was such a positive person and caring man.  May God give Him eternal peace and I look forward to seeing him in heaven and going on a sailboat ride on the crystal seas of heaven together.  It's not goodbye - it's until we meet again friend.

Adrian. My heart breaks for your family. You were such a warm and kind person. I’ll always remember that friendly smile.  I loved getting to spend time with you at the office (which was a life time ago). There are certain people that come into your life for a short time  but leave a forever imprint on your soul.  

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of this amazing life force. We met in the 1990s when he joined the worldwide IBM sales organization I managed.  Later he transferred from Canada to our hq team in Raleigh North Carolina.  

Adrian was already recognized as a world expert in his technology area.  But I remember him most for his thirst for life, his ability to live in the moment and his infectious sense of humor.

He regularly traveled the globe for work. Occasionally we would travel together and have an adventure.  Perhaps the most memorable for me was when 4 of us rented a 4-wheel drive and explored for several days after an event in Dubia.  Everyday was filled with new, perhaps dangerous, experiences.   Adrian was always leading the way, with his regular curiosity and sense of wonder.

Thanks to my friends for the wonderful memories.  Heartfelt condolences to his family.
