Albert Grady Whitmer Sr.

Albert loved his family and friends dearly. Albert was an extremely private person and a man of very few words. With that being said, there was never a doubt about his overwhelming commitment to his brother, Buck Whitmer. Albert was a man of constancy and never went out of his normal routine, which meant his daily visits to Joe’s Pizza and Subs in Manassas, VA. When he wasn’t working at Chantilly National Golf and Country Club as a Greensman for over 50 years, he enjoyed his time off watching the Redskins play football and the occasional golf match on the television in his favorite chair. He will truly be missed and will never be forgotten.

Albert was born on February 25, 1946, to Henry and Amie Whitmer of Centerville, VA. He is preceded in death by Father Henry and Mother Amie Whitmer. Along with 13 other siblings. He is survived by his brothers Edward, Buck and sisters Kitty, Jane, and Donna. As well as his daughter Angela Price (Husband Richard), son Albert Whitmer Jr, son Dennis Whitmer (Wife Melissa), daughter Betty Jo Underwood (Husband Robert) and daughter Stephanie Pendleton. Albert had 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Research Hospital.

Visitation will be at Demaine Funeral Home: 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030, on Thursday May 29th from 10:00AM-11:00AM. Grave site service will be held immediately following.
