Barbara Ann Mohay

December 31, 1955September 7, 2019

Barbara passed away peacefully in her home among her children, Justin and Jacklyn.

She was passionate about her work as a nurse at INOVA Fairfax Hospital for over forty years as she had the amazing capability to lift people up, no matter the circumstances. She loved driving across country, visiting shrines and churches in various states and long weekend vacations at any beach. She was able to keep her children in line by studying Tae Kwon Do and with her compassion and understanding. She maintained her strength to fight life’s battles through her devout Catholicism which she practiced every day, touching many lives not only as a parishioner, but also as a nurse, and passerby. Barbara will be deeply missed by her children Justin and Jacklyn, brother Tom, sister Ellen and brother-in-law Robert.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her church, Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church.

  • Justin Mohay, Son
  • Jacklyn Mohay, Daughter

Barbara Mohay was an extraordinary nurse and friend. She became my second mom being away from home and took me under her wing when I started working with her in CCU at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. I always appreciated and enjoyed our lunches, dinners and movie dates! I was so happy to see her 2 years ago while she drove through Texas on her way home. I will miss you but happy you’re no longer suffering. Rest In Peace Barbara and may you watch over us here on earth! Love you!

Privileged to know Barbara as a wonderful neighbor for 20 years. She will be fondly remembered by our family for her caring compassionate heart and her many kind and thoughtful words and gifts. Heartbroken that she lost her courageous battle with cancer, but thankful she is no longer in pain and resting with our Father in heaven. Lifting up heartfelt prayers for comfort and peace for Barbara's family and friends.
