Donald A. Younker "Dimmer", age 91 died peacefully at his home surrounded by the love and presence of his family. Don was born and raised in Johnstown, PA and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the war he attended trade school to begin a career as a brick mason. Don married his hometown sweetheart, Joann (predeceased) and they moved to Virginia to build their life together. He started his own business, Ravensworth Construction, specializing in fireplace additions and other home improvements. Even after retirement, he continued to stay busy as a warehouse manager and then well into his eighties working as an auto parts delivery driver. Don was a member of the Shriners where he met many good friends and enjoyed many Shriner events and travel. He also enjoyed visiting the casino, where he could be found sitting at his favorite slot machine wearing his lucky hat. Another favorite pastime was watching NASCAR races. Don always had a joke or a funny story to share and was always happy to make a new friend. He was a loving husband, a loving father, and a friend to many. He will be missed by his daughter Rhonda (Bill), son Ross (Susie), grandchildren, Bryan (Emily), Michael (Madie), Brandy, and Bill (Beth), great-grandchildren, Alex, Brayden, Liam, Colin, Dylan, and sister Joan Pinna. There will be no memorial service per Don's request. Donations can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital. An inurnment for both Don and Joann will be held in Johnstown, PA at a future date.
