Donna was born on September 28th, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois. She spent most of her life serving others. After leaving the farm in Illinois, she began a lifelong career as a waitress and event planner and while in California met a Marine who became her husband. She was married to Louis (Lou) Clark Frank more than 50 years before his passing in 2014. While being stationed all over the country and beyond, they raised three children before settling in Fairfax in 1975, where they made their home. She quickly became an icon in Fairfax, and was dearly loved by the community. She had a great love of her country, which led to the American Legion Post 177 where she served for decades. She loved watching her children play sports, and served in any capacity she could. Her greatest joys in life were her active faith in God, her family, friends and anyone she came in contact with. She was a friend to many.
She is survived by her daughter Tracey of Winslow, AR; son Chesty and grandson Conlin (19) of Manassas, VA; and son Kevin and his wife Chrissy of Fairfax VA with grandchildren Skyla (14), Brody (12), Grady (9), Cooper (6) and Kolby (1).
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax VA 22030. A memorial service will be held at Fairfax Community Church, 11451 Braddock Road, Fairfax VA 22030 on Monday, Feb. 18 at 10:30am. The burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gabriel Project or St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 3700 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22030.
