Edward A. Gubanich of Annandale, Virginia entered eternal rest at the age of 86, on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Eddie was a devoted husband, father, PopPop, Navy Veteran, Washington D.C. Police Officer, and legendary community member of his church.
Born on May 19, 1940, in Marguerite, Pennsylvania, he was the child of George and Eva Gubanich.
He is survived by his beloved spouse and true love of sixty years and ten days, Carol M. (Malacki) Gubanich; his brother George “Buggs” & Connie Gubanich; his children, Jon & Kristine Gubanich, Shelley Roberts, and Shannon & Arthur Keown; his grandchildren, Ian Roberts, Austin & wife Kelly Roberts, Alexa Gubanich, Janna Gubanich, and Wren Keown. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joann Gaudino.
A funeral service will be held at Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:30AM, located at 3410 Woodburn Rd, Annandale, VA 22003. In lieu of flower arrangements, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
