Eileen Frances (Kiesel) Giaimo, 78, of Burke, VA and York, PA passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 4, 2018. Eileen was born in the Bronx, NY on August 18, 1939. She was a graduate of St Vincent’s School of Nursing and St John’s University. She was happily married for 54 years to Col. Christopher J. Giaimo (Ret.) and, together with their family, spent over 26 years traveling the world while Chris served in the US Air Force. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters Eileen and husband Gary Ciarleglio of Hamden, CT; Rosemary and husband Dr. Dennis Johnson, of York, PA; and her son Christopher and wife Kim of Davidsonville, MD. She was adored by her grandchildren Luke, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Katherine and Mary who were the apples of her eye and will remember the many incredible trips they took with Nanny, Poppy and Aunt Eileen. Her unwavering love, support and encouragement and the shining example of faith and service she set for each of them will endure forever. She leaves behind her brother Dr. R. Donald Kiesel and his wife Rosemary of Fairfax Station, VA and many loving nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her parents Eileen and Joseph and her brother Dr. Joseph Kiesel.
She was a devoted NY Yankee and Giants fan, eagerly awaiting the start of each respective season. She leaves behind a legion of friends.
Services will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 13th and on April 14th, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St Mary of Sorrows Catholic Church, 5222 Sideburn Road, Fairfax, VA, 22032.
