Fannie Harne Ashby passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, in Leesburg, VA at the age of 92. A native of Fairfax County, Fannie worked for the Federal Government as an Administrative Supervisor and was known for her baked goods, top secret meatball recipe, crocheted baby blankets, a love of crossword puzzles, and for hosting the best Christmases a child could ask for.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Marshall Ashby. She is survived by her sister, Mary Harne; three children, David (Patricia) Ashby, Donald Ashby, and Debra (Jarl) Weyant; four grandchildren, Christy Ashby, Susan (James) Miller, Daniel (Rosalea) Knight, and Steven (Rachel) Knight; and seven great-grandchildren Grayson, John Bryce, Kassidy, Maria, Christopher, Gemma and Lucas.
Visitation will be held at the Demaine Funeral Home – Fairfax, 10565 Main St., Fairfax, VA, on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 10 to 11, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Fairfax City Cemetery alongside her husband, Marshall. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice.
