Genevieve Catherine Apostolakis

Genevieve Catherine Apostolakis, 93, of Pompano Beach, FL (formerly Fairfax City, VA) passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Gen was a proud member of The Eastern Star, The Moose Lodge, and The American Legion. Her life’s work was being a full time mother to 5 children. Once her children were grown, she worked as an accountant for Potomac Bank of Fairfax, and ended her working career at the Fairfax County Clerk’s Office. Genevieve also had her beautician’s license for many years. However, nothing put more of a sparkle in her eyes than being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her children Costa Apostolakis (Angie), Ronald Apostolakis, Pamela Wiggins, Florence Reagle (Bill), and Theodore Apostolakis (Roberta), 17 adored grandchildren, 20 cherished great grandchildren, and 4 treasured great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband Costa Apostolakis (Gus), her child Helen, her parents Charles & Florence VanLiew, 4 siblings, her grandson Scott Wiggins, and her son in law Henry Bryan (Hank). The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, November 9 at Demaine Fairfax Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 10 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Fairfax City Cemetery. Family and friends are invited back to the home of Pam Wiggins, 6112 Fox Run Fairfax, VA 22030, for a celebration of our Mom’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
