Hugh Francis Bradin Jr., age 82, of Apex, North Carolina and formerly of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Hugh was born April 30, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Hugh Francis Bradin Sr and Elizabeth Reed Bradin. Hugh was predeceased by his wife, Diana Bradin.
Beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Hugh was man of honor and integrity and a true inspiration and role model to those who knew him. He was a graduate of Philadelphia's West Catholic Boys High School and Drexel University. Hugh and his wife Diana raised their sons in Vienna and spent four life-shaping years in Alice Springs, Australia. Hugh was an engineer and his career with the Central Intelligence Agency spanned 29 years. He was a tremendous athlete, having won numerous awards in Philadelphia for his excellence in baseball and track. Hugh was a little league coach for many years and in his later years, he founded a reading program at his grandson's elementary school to pair seniors with students who could benefit from reading assistance. He loved biking with his sons, fishing on his favorite beach in Duck, NC, and spending time with family and friends, especially with his beloved grandchildren.
Hugh is survived by his sons, Hugh Bradin III and Scott Bradin (Paula); his brother George (Patricia); and his grandchildren: Christopher, Alexander, Elise, Ethan, Carolina, Carlee, Landon, and Luke.
Graveside services were private and held at Fairfax Memorial Park on Saturday, August 7, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local elementary school.
