I served with John in the 10th Special Forces. Later in life we both were Ireland at the same time with our families.  John introduced me to his relatives around Abbey Dorney.  We had a grand time. I have told the story often about visiting the fairy forts on Mick and Mae Rellahan's property. He was my father's lawyer and helped Dad get out of a few scrapes as he aged.  Rest in peace my friend.

I  am  one  of  John's  Irish  cousins.  We  fondly  remember his  visits.  I  visited  and  stayed  with  John and  his  young  family  in  1991

I was stationed with John at Ft Dix and Ft Benning he was a great guy and soldier. I regret I waited this long to search for him. God bless his family.

I first met John and his brother Patio approximately July 10, 1953. I was 7 years old, and my family had just moved from Brooklyn to the house next door to the Brosnans in Pleasant Plains, Staten Island. My late brother, Mark, and I became best of friends with both of the Brosnans as we were the same ages. There are more memories than I can count that we all shared. I last saw and spoke with John and his wife approximately April 3, 1985. I was moving from Staten Island to Atlanta, where I still live, and stopped off at my now wife's home in Northern Virginia. We got together for a pleasant evening, the first time in many years. I am sad to say that busy lives got in the way of staying in touch, and I am saddened by it. May John know eternal rest, and may his children and grandchildren know that he led a good, meaningful life, one where he was a contributor and left the world around him a better place because he lived.

My deepest sympathies to all of you as you celebrate John's life.  It is the little things in life that touch our hearts and I always appreciated a neighborly wave from John as I was driving home and he was cutting the lawn (which always looked amazing!).  May you find comfort and peace in the wonderful memories that your family shared together.

My father Peter Kochel has always loved his time spent with both John and Pat and their families. John was important to my father in his life and so he is important to all the Kochels. He will always be remembered and missed for being a lifelong friend to my dad Pete.

I grew up in Princes Bay and knew the Brosan's family from church. I remember his sister Shelia was a girl scout with me and his sister Mary was a basketball Coach at St. Louis Academy. Sincere sympathy to his family.  Liz Hedrick Fragapano

We had the great privilege of growing up with John and the wonderful Brosnan family in Staten Island.  John was always a bright light so kind and generous. There is surely comfort and peace for him now and reward in heaven.
