Larry K. Jenkins, 75, of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, went to be with his Lord, unexpectedly, on Monday, January 20, 2025, with his wife, Bobbi, by his side. Although he was plagued by health problems that impaired his mobility for many years, his passing was unexpected.
Larry was born on June 23, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland. His parents were Evelyn Empfield and Lewis Edward Jenkins. Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 54 years, and many nieces and nephews. Larry and Barbara ("Bobbi") were married on May 8, 1971, in Baltimore, Maryland, and then moved to the City of Fairfax to make their home.
Larry was proud to serve in the U.S. Army stationed in Japan and Virginia. He graduated from The Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management held at the University of Virginia, sponsored by the Virginia Bankers Association. He very quickly became a Senior Vice President for Nations Bank which became Bank of America.
Larry had a sincere interest in the City of Fairfax and worked with the City and FEMA in successfully removing our property from the Flood Plain. He was a sincere and honest man who worked hard to make a difference in the lives of others. He was a good neighbor and a long-time sincere friend to many. He will be missed.
