Obituary of Lillian T. Fetta
The family of Lillian Tracy Fetta of Fairfax, Virginia is deeply saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the age of 93. Lillian was born on July 19, 1930 to James Leroy Tracy and Catherine Ireland Tracy on the family farm in Enfield, Maine. As a young adult Lillian relocated to the Washington D.C. area where she met and married her husband, Frank Louis Fetta. Lillian and Frank eventually settled in Fairfax, Virginia where they both worked and raised their eight children. The family will be forever grateful for Lillian’s unwavering commitment to her family and faith. Prior to marriage Lillian served in the military and earned her pilot’s license. Throughout her married life she worked two jobs, supporting both her husband’s title examiner practice and as a legal secretary. After Frank’s passing, she started and ran her own title examiner business until her retirement. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Frank A. Fetta; granddaughter Shannon Jones; siblings Christine Fouch, and James Tracy. Lillian is survived by children Tracy (John) McDonnell, Catherine (John) Schmidt, Kevin Fetta, Vincent Fetta, Guido (Susan) Fetta, Sister Mary Chiara, and Dominic (Patricia) Fetta; grandchildren John (Rachel) Schmidt; Michael (Alivia) Schmidt, Jason Jones, Brendan McDonnell, Carolyn McDonnell, Lillian (John) Karaban, and Thomas Fetta; great-grandchildren Blake Schmidt, Brynn Schmidt, Easton Schmidt, Hudson Schmidt; siblings William Tracy, Katherine Lyle, Madeline Fogg, and Spencer Tracy. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Demaine Funeral Home in Fairfax, Virginia. Funeral Mass will be said at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Fairfax, Virginia on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lillian’s name to the Poor Clare Monastery, 2503 Stone Hedge Dr, Alexandria VA, 22306. The family also wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Gardens of Fair Oaks for their care and compassion.
