We, the family of Lisa Ann Moore, are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved sister, daughter, friend and Cat Mom, Lisa Ann Moore. Lisa, aged 67, passed away peacefully in the early hours on March 1, 2026, in Fairfax, Virginia after a short illness.
The Moore family would like to share our thanks for the many expressions of condolence, compassion, sympathy and love from all of Lisa’s friends and her extended family from her lengthy career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Lisa loved you all dearly and greatly valued your friendship and caring.
Lisa was born on May 26th, 1958, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Lisa was the only daughter of five children for her loving parents, US Army Colonel George D. Moore, Jr. and Eileen Moore.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from George Mason University and enjoyed a successful and rewarding lifelong career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She was a cherished daughter, a loving sister, a doting aunt, and a lifelong cat lover. Lisa loved time with family and friends, traveling, cinema, in addition to all things Disney.
Lisa was an active member of the FBI Alumni Association and loved to travel on many of the trips organized by her fellow retiree FBI alum and dear friends.
Lisa also took many trips both abroad as well as in the USA. Among the many places Lisa traveled to were Hawaii, Italy and China. Lisa probably caught the travel bug during her childhood in an Army family that had lived in many different places and countries during her childhood. She particarily loved Italy and took several long trips there over a period of several years. She also loved traveling up and down the eastern part of the US during the fall with her friends to appreciate the fall foliage in different parts of the country both in the North and South. Lisa loved all things Disney. She was a member of the Disney Cruise Club and loved the many trips she took with the Disney organization and her close friends. Her favorite fictional characters were Minnie Mouse and Dexter Morgan from the TV show, a strange combination for sure.
Lisa loved cats of all kinds and often had many different cats dating back to when she was a little girl. One of her favorite things to do was to cat-sit for her friends when one of her many friends took a trip.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents as well as her oldest brother Peter (Debra surv.) and her treasured cat companions. She is survived by her brothers Steve (Barbara), Eric, and Greg, and her nieces and nephews David(Aly), Richard, Katelyn(Zach) Michael(Courtney), Paige(Bo), Nicholas, and Virginia(Gage), as well as four great-nieces Lacey, Tessa, Sophia, and one on-the-way who will miss her dearly.
Services for Lisa will be held on Tuesday May 26th, 2026, at Demaine Funeral Home in Fairfax, Virginia at 6:00 in the evening. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Lisa’s honor to feline friends at the Humane Society of Northern Virginia or Wolf Trap Animal Rescue. Demaine is located at 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030.
