Marietta was born on 16 March 1939 in Borsch in the state of Hessen, Germany. She graduated from boarding school in Fritzlar, Germany and then started her career working in Lourdes, France and Manchester, England. She returned to Germany in 1960 and found work as a language translator at Camp Lindsay US Air Force Station in Wiesbaden, Germany where she met her future husband Bennie Bustamante to whom she was married in 1961. She worked at various companies in Wiesbaden, Germany, Falls Church, VA, and San Antonio, TX, following her husband’s USAF assignments throughout the 1960s and 70s and then concluded the homeland (Germany) portion of her career working as an Executive Administrator for the CEO of Trumpf GmbH, an international machine tool company based in the Stuttgart, Germany area from 1974 to 1984. She left Germany in 1984 to follow her family to Alexandria, VA and concluded her career working as a Legal Administrator at the Washington DC based law firms of Wilkinson, Barker, Knauer and Quinn and Mayer Brown from 1985 through 2003. She moved to Boca Raton, FL in 2010 and spent her golden years enjoying the local beaches and relaxed lifestyle.
Marietta was known for her classy and elegant style, friendly and kind demeanor, and her special talent with fashion, cooking, and decorating, as well as her love for family and friends. She is survived by Bennie Bustamante her husband of 58 years of Boca Raton, FL, her two sons A. Kieran Bustamante of Fairfax, VA, and Bennie Bustamante, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH and 6 grandchildren (Mathias, Antonia, Danny, Marilena, Kalina, and Antony), as well as her two sisters Wilma Weber of Frankfurt, Germany and Monica Biwer of Wiesbaden, Germany.
A visitation for Marietta will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Demaine Funeral Home 10565 Main St., Fairfax, VA 22030. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 3700 Old Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA 22030.
