Mario Lazaro Jr.

Mario Lazaro, Jr., 74, went to be with his Lord on September 15, 2020 A.D. in Fairfax, VA. Mario was born on October 09, 1945 to Mario E. and Odelta Lazaro in New York City. He grew up in Midtown, Manhattan, with his younger brother Ramón. Mario married Joanne Ferrara on October 06, 1973, and together they raised their son, Dominic. Mario graduated from Brooklyn College, and spent the majority of his life living in New York City working as an industrial chemist for 50 years. Over the course of his career, Mario became an expert in coating technologies; in a similar manner, he was also the go-to person for his family in repairing all sorts of mechanical and electrical devices. Mario’s interests included music, in particular, playing the guitar, which he taught to his son; building models, especially wooden ships; rebuilding computers; and numerous home improvement projects with his wife. Mario and his wife, Joanne, spent the latter years of his retirement living in Fairfax, VA, in order to spend more time with their son. He is survived by his wife, son, brother, and extended family. He will be interred at All Souls Cemetery in Germantown, MD. A viewing will be at held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at Demaine Funeral Home - Fairfax, 10565 Main St., Fairfax, VA 22030; and will proceed to a graveside service for Mario later that day, at 12:00 PM, at All Souls Cemetery, 11401 Brink Road, Germantown, MD 20876. A burial will occur.
