

Mary Agnes Fendley, 97, of Fairfax VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2020 while at the Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax. She was born, raised, and spent all of her life within the Fairfax area. She was born April 1, 1923 to her parents Edward B. Moore and Mattie M. (Sutphin) Moore of Ballston, VA. She married William Cleo Fendley on March 6, 1941 and worked for almost 40 years at the American Red Cross in Alexandria VA, retiring in 1983. She was a long-time member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Oakton VA. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, siblings George Moore, Barbara Rowland, and Phillip Moore, husband William Cleo Fendley, son William C. Fendley Jr, and granddaughter Tracy Doyle. She is survived by her son V. Gene Fendley, her grandchildren Kimberly Matos, J. Dean Fendley, Tish M. Cordova, Ryan D. Fendley, her 12 great-grandchildren, and her sister Mayonie Bradford. There will be a viewing Wednesday, May 13th from 6-8PM and a private graveside service the following day. A memorial service will be held at a later date for her family and friends to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairfax area Fire Depts, Fellowship Baptist Church, and the American Red Cross. She will be missed greatly, but will forever be in our hearts and memories.
