Mike was born the on June 28, 1949 in Statesville, NC to W. Ellis & Avin Dagenhart. He served during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. At the end of his service he began his career in construction as an equipment operator. He later retired from William A Hazel, Inc.
Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Theresa Long Dagenhart of Haymarket, VA; mother Avin Dagenhart of Statesville, NC; 2 grandsons Ashton and Jaxon Hurt of MD; uncle Wayne Dagenhart of NC; aunt Kay Edwards of NC; sister-in-law Cheryl Long Douglas of Haymarket, VA; and numerous cousins nieces and nephews.
Mike was predeceased by his daughter Michele Thomas Dagenhart of Bristow, VA and father W. Ellis Dagenhart of Statesville, NC.
Viewing/reception will be held Friday, September 9th 2022 from 11:30-1:30 pm at Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030. Military graveside service will be held from 1:30-2:30 pm, officiated by Raymond Spriggs of Focus Ministries, Sterling, VA.
