Obituary of Patricia Ann Breen
Patricia Ann Breen, of Fairfax VA, gained her angel wings on Monday, December 14, 2020 with her daughter by her side. Patricia, aka "Patty, Pat, Mommy Pat" was born in London, England on March 17, 1948 to Eleanore and George A. Breen. She led a full life growing up overseas and spent several years in London, then traveling to the Philippines and Japan from late 50's into early 60's. In 1964 the family settled in Fairfax city, Virginia where she attended and graduated from the "old" Fairfax High School. After graduating she spent several years in San Francisco and San Diego. Once returning to Fairfax she worked at numerous music venues/night clubs including The Bayou where she met her daughters father, the M Club and the Crazy Horse. She took many college courses later in life in her favorite subjects such as psychology, sociology and anthropology where she frequently brought her daughter to college with her. She also worked in many office positions, her last for a woman who also ran an animal sanctuary. She took her Irish heritage and birthday very seriously and every year made a point to go to places she frequented and made sure everyone had a shamrock to wear. She was a free spirit and a fighter for what she believed in. She would light up the room and her presence was always known as soon as she entered. She also loved to talk to people and never really met a stranger. She was full of compassion and empathy. It was always her nature to give, even when she had very little. She was always doing what she could to save animals and help people, including many youth that found their way to our door. Throughout her life she supported and assisted in many animal rights causes and helped with many animal rescues. Her passions included music, which could never be loud enough, and animal rights and rescue. Even as a child she was always bringing home the strays. She is survived by her only child, Aleta Rheann Breen; her mother Eleanore E. Breen; brothers George (Bob) Breen, Richard Breen and Michael Breen; niece Tess Breen, nephew Adam Breen and his significant other Chris Nicosia. She was preceded in death by her beloved father George Andrew Breen. Funeral arrangements will be held at Demaine Funeral Home in Fairfax, VA on December 29, 2020 at 11:30 for visitation and noon for the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks to please make donations to one of her favorite rescue organizations, Mutt Love in which she tried to attend and help at as many adoption events as she could.
