Obituary of Philip Edward Cook
Philip Edward Cook of Chantilly, VA, passed away peacefully at his home on March 1, 2021. He was 74 years old. Phil was a loving husband, father and “Pop-Pop.” Phil was born August 7, 1946, in Peoria, Illinois. Phil was the youngest of 4 children and, after graduating high school, served in the United States Navy for 6 years. While in the Navy, Phil met the love of his life, Carole, and they were soon married on July 12, 1969. Upon leaving the Navy, Phil began working as a Navy Contractor in Rockville, MD and then transferred to work with Fairfax County for the last 10 years of his work career. Throughout his life, Phil loved music, traveling, automobiles and motorcycles, and working with his hands in and around the house. Phil’s life will be honored and remembered Thursday, March 11th at 10:00 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Chantilly, VA. Friends and members of the community are welcome to join in this celebration of life service. A private service at Fairfax City Cemetery will follow for immediate family. Phil is survived by his amazing wife of 51 years, Carole, his children Brandon (Delia) Cook and Lindsay (Brian) Kane, grandchildren Emma Kane (17) and Austin Kane (14), Colin Cook (3) and Christopher Cook (3). Additionally, Phil is survived by his sister Carol Buckman and cousin Keith (Bev) Rowley. Phil loved to laugh, make others laugh, and was happiest spending time with his family and friends.
