Raymond Kenneth Buckley, Jr. went to be with the Living God and His Son on June 21, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born on June 17, 1950, in Arlington, VA. Ray leaves behind his son, Raymond Buckley III, and his daughter, Laura Van Hoozen, and 3 grandchildren, Trent, Christopher and Juliana. Ray is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Buckley, Sr. and his mother, Doris Buckley, as well as his brother, Milton Buckley. Ray is also survived by a sister, Brenda Tozar, and two brothers, Mike and Leon Buckley. Ray retired from Hubbell Pulsecom where he was an Engineer since he joined the company in 1973.
Ray was drafted into military service in 1970, where he served honorably in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Ray was a lifelong patriot and lover of the freedoms of his nation, and always supported service-oriented organizations to provide assistance to Veterans in need.
Ray lived a life of great service to others without any thought of recompense to himself. He was a generous provider of charity to many organizations in the United States and globally to ease the pain and suffering of people he would never meet. He always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Ray truly embodied the spirit of generosity and giving that we should all strive for. In 2 Corinthians 9:7, the Lord tells us, “Each of you must give what you have decided in your heart, not with regret or under compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver.”
Ray was a life-long learner and avid reader in search of answers to life’s truths. He had an unmatched sense of humor and a loving smile, and brought great joy to those that knew him. For those left behind, Ray will be greatly missed. The world was a better place with him in it, and his absence will be sorely felt. Until we meet again, we hold you close to our hearts, and there you will remain to walk and guide us through this life.
"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.”
Visitation for Ray will take place at Demaine Funeral Home in Fairfax, VA, on Sunday, July 06th from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM at Demaine, and he will be interred at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, VA, at 2:00PM.
