Richards Jennings Kolb

Richards Jennings Kolb, at age 75, peacefully passed away on April 5, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Rick was born March 1, 1949, in Washington DC to his parents Lawrence Coleman Kolb and Madeline Currie Kolb. In his upbringing inTenafly, New Jersey he had been an active young man involved in ice hockey and lacrosse. His education took him from Hebron Academy graduating in 1968, to Ricker College in 1972 for his bachelor's degree in Geology. He later attended Kent State for part of his master's degree. He became the loving husband of Sara Margaret Bean on June 30, 1973, celebrating over 51 years together as of this year. Rick and Sara shared a family of two daughters, Kathleen C. Kolb Taylor and Kym C. Kolb and five wonderful grandkids. Rick was a sharp-witted man who always seemed to know a little something about everything. Rick loved to experiment in the kitchen creating lots of food made of love. One memorable thing about Rick is how he was in touch with nature. He loved fishing, feeding the wildlife (particularly his favorite, Ralph the chipmunk), plant keeping, and bird watching. Rick will live on in our hearts and memories. He is survived by his wife Sara K.; children Kathleen K Taylor, her husband Paul A Taylor, and Kym C. Kolb.; and grandkids Robert T., Elena T., James K., Kassidy K., and Bryant K.
