Roy was born in Fairfax County, VA to Roy G. Rose and Carrie Hawes Rose on February 23, 1926. After graduating from Fairfax High School, he served in the U.S. Navy as part of the Pacific Fleet during World War II. Upon his return, he began a career of over 40 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC, where he was best known for his talents as a sketch artist of suspects accused of federal crimes.
Roy is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Lannie Smith Rose.
Roy is survived by his sister Norma Rose, his brother Arthur Rose, his son Blake Rose (wife Nancy), grandson Brian Rose (wife Megan), and great grandson Wallace Rose.
