Ryan Jeffrey Poli

February 8, 1996July 11, 2017

We remember Ryan as a sensitive and caring person who brought joy and humor into our lives. He succumbed to a long battle with depression and anxiety and passed away at his childhood home on July 11, 2017. Depression is a disease of the mind and one’s mental outlook and we know he is at rest and without pain now.

Ryan was born in Augusta County, Virginia on February 8, 1996. He grew up in the Afton Glen neighborhood of Springfield, Virginia. He attended Sangster Elementary and was active in Cub Scouts and skateboarding. He graduated from Lake Braddock High School in 2014. He completed a George Mason University certificate in Web Design in 2015, and was attending Northern Virginia Community College working toward a degree in Communication Design.

Ryan had many talents. More than anything else, he wanted to be remembered as an artist, practicing his work through graffiti by his tag, Intrepid. He owned his own business, Intrepid Design Company, to promote his graffiti art on clothing. He also loved playing the drums and would often play during our neighborhood Independence Day celebration with the “Blues and Jazz Men Band” of Blue Jasmine Court.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Lori Poli; sister, Lindsey Poli; grandparents, Mary Ann Jones from Palm Bay, FL and Elizabeth Tracy from Sarasota, FL and long time girlfriend, Gabby Draugelis.

Ryan Jeffrey Poli

have a memory or condolence to add?

August 27, 2017

Dear Jeff, Lori and Lindsey,

We will remember Ryan as a ray of sunshine with a quick smile and twinkle in his eyes. We have so many wonderful memories with him. There are all of the scout campouts and activities, fun times at school and the many sleepovers. No one can forget all of the skateboard antics and dare devil bike jumps. We hope that your memories will bring you some comfort at this very difficult time.

Matt has always been in awe of Ryans artistic talents and proud of the business he created. Fortunately, Ryans presence will always be with us through his art.

Please know that we share in the sorrow of losing Ryan, and join you in celebrating his life and many accomplishments. Ryan made a huge and positive impact on so many.

In deepest sympathy,
Tish, Laura and Matt
