

Sharon was born on December 19, 1935, in Bellevue, Ohio, to Robert and Irene Wills. She attended high school in Bellevue, earned her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University, and later received her MBA from the University of New Hampshire.
While attending Bowling Green, Sharon met her future husband, Colonel Robert Dean LaTour, U.S. Army (Retired). They were married on April 12, 1958, in Bellevue, Ohio. During Robert’s military career, the family moved often, finally settling in Virginia.
Shortly after moving to Virginia in 1976, Sharon began her federal career with the U.S. Postal Service. Within a few years, she transitioned to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she remained for the remainder of her professional career.
Upon retirement, Robert and Sharon moved from Fairfax Station, Virginia, to the custom home they built on the water at Lake Anna. During this time, Sharon became a certified Master Gardener and devoted herself to spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed attending plays, visiting art galleries, traveling, gardening, volunteering, and sitting on the dock in the sunshine.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Robert LaTour; her parents, Robert and Irene Wills; and her daughter, Nannette Alene LaTour.
She is survived by her children: Robert Dean LaTour, Jr., and his husband, Joseph Macario, of Fairfax, Virginia; Michele LaTour Monroe and her husband, Bradley S. Monroe, of Centreville, Virginia; and David Brent LaTour and his wife, Shari L. LaTour, of Ashburn, Virginia. Sharon is also survived by her four granddaughters, Olivia Wills Westbrook, Meredith Paige Westbrook, Nicole Ryann LaTour, and Lauren Jacqueline LaTour, and by her two great-grandsons, Thomas Robert Terrell, III and Chance Oliver Terrell, sons of Olivia and her husband, Thomas Robert Terrell, Jr.
The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff at The Virginian in Fairfax, Virginia, for the love and care they provided to Sharon for many years.
Sharon will be laid to rest at a private inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sharon’s honor to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
