Wayne Richard Hunt

Wayne Richard Hunt of Fairfax, VA passed away peacefully at his home on November 29, 2022. Wayne was a skilled guitarist, with a genuine talent for performing and connecting with his audience. His many bands including The Boones Farmers, The Shakes, Speak Easy, Whack-a-Mole, Tastes Like Chicken, Positive Ground and others brought joy to audiences for decades. His creativity expanded to theater, cartooning, puppetry, and old time radio plays. Wayne took great pride in his work as a Director of Online Services, beginning in the early days of the internet. He was a lifelong dedicated Washington Redskins fan (HTTR!). Wayne was one of a kind, with a kind and gentle soul and a fantastic sense of humor. His generous smile and infectious laugh will be missed by so many. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Elynore W. Hunt and Richard E. Hunt and is survived by his sister Bethany (Scott) Huheey and their children Kevin and Morgan Huheey. Family and friends are invited to gather at Historic Blenheim (3610 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22030) on Saturday, January 28th, 4-8pm. Wayne cared deeply for his rescue dogs. His family asks that if you are so moved, you make a donation in his memory to the Humane Society or your local animal rescue.
