I was deeply saddened to hear of Bill's passing.   Bill and I served together in the Air National Guard for many years with the 231st Combat Communications Squadron at Andrews AFB, MD.   I moved on to the Maryland Air Guard but we remained friends for over 40 years.   We shared the enjoyment of classic cars and firearms, two unlikely candidates as he was an Attorney and I was a law enforcement officer.   We bantered often and enjoy that very much.    Bill was a special person who never met someone he did not like.   He was always there to help a friend in need and I am going to miss those lunches together at the Globe & Laurel.   Rest in Peace my friend, you will always remain in my heart as one of the truest of friends a man could ask for.   Prayers to Bill's family whom I know will miss him very much however his memory will forever live in their hearts.

Bill was my boss when we were in the Air Force in Iceland.  He helped me in many ways to make it thru that year of isolation with his humor and support. After the AF we lost touch, but through the power of the internet we were able to reacquaint ourselves several years ago.  We visited each other and were able to play golf a few times.  I'm so sorry I wasn't able to be there for his celebration of life, but didn't know of his passing  until it was too late.  Bill's positive attitude was contagious.  He was a great guy and a great officer.

For more than 3 decades, we were blessed to have Bill Dangoia as a major part of our existence. We were co-workers at the Veterans Administration, now called Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Bill was an attorney in the General Counsel's office while I was in Human  Resources. Our common interests (sometimes called addictions by Bill) were antique cars, firearms collecting and sharing "war stories" from our service in the military. While I am not a golf enthusiast, there were few hobbies that Bill loved more than "hitting the links", except for cooking and eating  Italian food! A paisano from NY , he wore on his sleeve as a badge of honor that he was a charter member of the Italian culture. I must confess I often wondered if Bill was associated with one of the 5 Families in NY. He so reminded me of & looked so much like the Don, John Gotti.

In truth, Bill was a man's man who gave new meaning to the words love, compassion, support and patriotism. A human being of the highest integrity and character, he was a man who only saw the good in people. I never heard him utter a disparaging word about anyone! He was too busy trying to encourage people to be positive  tand to feel good about themselves! By his role model example, he proved to be a marked success.  It is safe to say that Bill's legacy is very much intact. We shall always remember that he was a giver, not a taker and he made a difference to so many. I am grateful to say I was lucky & was one of them. God bless Bill.

We remember Bill as a trusted colleague, a loyal friend, golfing partner and storyteller.  We are grateful for his love and support of our daughter, an honorary uncle who treated her as if she were his own.  Bill's personality and laughter filled a room.  We will miss him and grieve his loss with Barbara, Tiffany, Kristi, and Bob.  Gone too soon.  Rest in peace dear friend.

I can't believe I've known Bill for 32 years! And even though we didn't get to see each other or talk much, when we did, he treated me as his own niece.  We're so saddened for Bill's family and mostly for my Aunt Babs who Bill took care of and cherished for many, many years.  Sending lots of love to all affected by this terrible loss.

Bill was a close friend and member of our NORVA Rod and Gun Club.  We all admired him so much and we enjoyed his  humor ,great food when he cooked for us.  He was so helpful to our Board of Directors when legal issues came up.  I speak for all of us who all are so stunned and saddened by his passing.   We all miss you and you will never be forgotten. We have been neighbors of Bill and Barbara for over 20 years. Bill was always kind with his words and happy in his heart. Throughout this time, Bill was always there for us during hard times. Bill and Barbara were the first ones over when Mark’s son was killed in Iraq. When my dear mother passed, again they were there for us.
