Joseph C. Paccia Jr, age 89 of Fairhaven, passed away in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Marguerite L. (Fortier) Paccia with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.
Born in Brockton, a son of the late Joseph C. and Lucile (Langley) Paccia, he was a resident of Brockton for 81 years and 8 years in Fairhaven. He attended Cornell University and served in the United States Army and Naval Reserves. Joseph was employed as a Store Manager for many years.
He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a very dedicated family man. Joseph enjoyed woodworking, telling jokes, gardening, camping, playing the guitar and Banjo, darts and listening to music. He was also a handyman.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Joseph Paccia and his wife Carmen of CT, Jeanne Paccia of Mattapoisett, James Paccia and his wife Cheryl of NY, Susan Sampson and her husband William of Fairhaven, Kathleen McClure and her husband Michael of Rochester, Linda Paccia Costa and her husband Larry of FL, Christine Sylvester and her husband Robert of Rochester and Maureen Kailher of Whitman; daughter in-law, Madelene Paccia; two brothers Walter Paccia of Brockton and Robert Paccia of Bridgewater; 28 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Benjamin, Rebecca, Jacob, Eli, Abby, Emily, Ellen, Nick, Noah, Jennifer, Tony, Alicia, Alex, Angela, Kyle, Nolan, Michael, Daniel, Sara, Julia, Jesse, Cammie, Tina, Marie, Bobby , Shane and Isabella; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Steven and Mary Paccia, father in-law of the late Dr. Stanley Spevack and brother of the late Ann Piver.
The family would like to thank the Southcoast VNA and Predell Shields for the constant care and support provided to Joseph and his family during these difficult times.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 10:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00PM.
