Ann E. Sugdinis

Ann Elizabeth (Horrigan) Sugdinis, 89, of Fairhaven and Eastham, MA, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Alden Court after a short illness. Born in Waterbury, CT, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius R. and Lillian E. (Forster) Horrigan. After her childhood in Middlebury, CT, Ann graduated from West Hartford High School and worked as an Executive Assistant in education, medicine, and real estate for over 50 years. There was nothing she couldn’t organize and improve.

Ann was a gifted chef and loved sharing her elegant home while hosting dinner parties. You could always expect a remarkable and delicious meal under her roof. Spending time with family and friends gave her joy, as did searching all year for the perfect Christmas gift for those important people. Although her accomplishments were quiet, she herself was a big character with a wicked Irish wit and deep understanding of human nature. Ann had a lifelong passion for reading. She was the greatest mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and the best of friends. She will be profoundly missed.

She was the beloved wife of Joel E. Sugdinis, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughter Lisa Morgan (Sam) Mitchell of Pleasanton, CA; grandson Ross Mitchell-Strebel and his wife Gabrielle of Ogden, UT; stepson Ian Lambert and his wife Beth Willinger of New Orleans, LA. Ann was also the grandmother of the late Cameron Mitchell-Goulette. She also leaves Joel’s children Christopher, Matthew, and Rosa.In addition, Ann leaves her sister Marie Gorlewski of Meriden, CT; adored niece Jeanne Moore and her husband Kevin Carson of Westbrook, CT; great niece and nephews Griffin, Brennan, and Morgan Moore, all of CT.
