Anne J. Jacobsen

Anne J. (Myklebust) Jacobsen, 80, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 13, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the caring wife of Thomas B. Jacobsen with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Haugesund, Norway, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lloyd and Eli (Rossebo) Myklebust.

Anne worked at the Euro Ship Store in Fairhaven for 25 years prior to her retirement. During that time, she formed many close friendships with her coworkers, who became like family to her.

Anne’s approach to life was simple: find happiness and be kind. No one embodied this better than her. Anne’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren. She loved to host family events and holidays and was always making sure everyone was well fed.

Anne enjoyed cooking, knitting, spending summers in her beloved Norway and taking road trips across the U.S. with her husband. Anne loved packing up the car for a four-week trip with no specific destination in mind, making special memories along the way.

Many summer days were enjoyed on West Island beach with her family and friends. She also had a green thumb and dedicated countless hours to her beautiful flower beds.

Anne will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.

In addition to her husband Thomas, Anne is survived by her children Lloyd Jacobsen and his wife, Nicole, of Marblehead; Kenneth Jacobsen and his wife Elizabeth of Fairhaven; her daughter in law Erica Jacobsen of Rhode Island; her six grandchildren, Justin, Owen, Ryder, Liv, Myles, and Luke; as well as her sisters Synnove, Ase, and Eli all of Norway.

Anne was predeceased by her cherished son, Gunnar Jacobsen.

A private celebration of Anne’s life will be held at the convenience of the family.
