Barbara R. McCoy

Barbara Rita McCoy, of Dartmouth, died August 18, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the daughter of Stanley and Flora Elliott Kenerson. She was born in Lynn, Ma and lived in New Bedford before moving to Dartmouth.

She was the mother of the late Mark David Janusz, the late Luke Elliott Janusz and the late Atty. Greta Janusz. She was the grandmother of Thomas Janusz, son of Mark, Marcos Janusz Matheson and Jacob Janusz Matheson, sons of Greta and Gary Matheson and she leaves behind a great-grandchild.

Barbara graduated from New Bedford High School, received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bridgewater State College and continued on to receive her Master’s degree. She also attended Smith College for East Asian Studies.

Barbara’s teaching included Art Specialist in Fairhaven schools and also in Tessa, Shimizu Japan.

Her Art shows included a show at the Wamsutta Club in New Bedford and also a one person show in Japan, home of John Manjiro.

Her funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 74 Spring St., Fairhaven followed by burial in Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven.
