Carol Joyce Baden

She was the loving wife of the late George C. Baden, to whom she was happily married for 59 years.

Born in New Bedford, MA, daughter of the late Arthur Joseph and Florence I. (DeMoranville) McGowan, Carol was a longtime Fairhaven resident. A 1958 graduate of Fairhaven High School, she was employed for 18 years by Fairhaven Savings Bank, which later merged with Citizens Bank.

Earlier in career, she was employed by New England Telephone and Telegraph Company for 10 years. She also worked for the Alaska Communications Systems in Fairbanks, Alaska while her husband, George, was stationed there in the Air Force.

She later served as a teaching aide for Job C. Tripp School during the 1970’s.

Carol was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, New Bedford, and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church’s Women’s Fellowship in Fairhaven.

Carol is survived by her beloved son, Steven J. Baden, Ph.D, also of Fairhaven.

Her Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 6:00PM to 7:00PM in the First Church of the Nazarene, 764 Hathaway Road, New Bedford, MA 02740. Relatives and friends are invited.
