Carol Ann Howland, lovingly known as Mimi, was born on December 14, 1948, in Nashua, New Hampshire and passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 76. She was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Annette (Cassista) Smith.
Carol's early career included working for New England Telephone and Sanders Associates. Later, she dedicated her time as a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital and Oxford School in Fairhaven. She also worked for the offices of Dr. Costa and Dr. Sicard.
For 55 years, Carol was married to Dana P. Howland. She is survived by her son, Todd Howland, and his wife, Wendy. Carol shared a close and special bond with her grandson, Colby Howland. She is also remembered by her brother-in-law, Richard May, and several nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her sister, Betty Ann May, and her brother, Ronald Smith.
In her personal life, Carol enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, with London being her favorite destination. She had a passion for needlework, cross-stitch, crocheting, and reading.
Carol Ann Howland will be deeply missed by her family and those who knew her.
