Born in Frankfort, NY, a daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Hurston) Stephenson, she had resided in Fairhaven for over 60 years.
Mrs. Hopkins had worked as an inspector for Isotronics for many years until her retirement.
While in New York, she was educated in a one-room schoolhouse where she received her high school diploma. She was a majorette in the high school band and marched in parades. Edna was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and flowers, and especially loved hummingbirds. She was a wonderful mother to her five children and she will be greatly missed.
Her family includes a son, Eldon A. Hopkins, III and his wife Lynn; a son, Stephen Hopkins; a daughter, Jessica Hopkins and her husband Albert Wheeler; her late daughter, Cynthia Hopkins; and a daughter, Cheryl Hopkins; six grandchildren, Christopher, Kevin and Jonathan Hopkins, Audrey Ramsey and Jeremy Ramsey and his wife Amanda and Katie Hopkins; her great-grandchildren, Pegan, Skyler and Trinity Gaudreau, Isabella and Issac Silveria, Isabella and Ariahana Ramsey, Hanna, Ava, Jocelyn and Jackson Hopkins; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Walter, Timothy and Jack Stephenson, Minnie Inman, Mary Powers and Barbara Hughes.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 10am–1pm with a Funeral Service at 1pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
