Eugenia dos Santos Martinho

Eugenia dos Santos Martins Martinho of Fairhaven passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on February 15, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio “Fausto” Martinho, with whom she was married for 59 years.

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Eugenia was the daughter of the late Antonio and Antonia (dos Santos) Martins and is predeceased by her loving siblings, Maria dos Santos Martins Leite and Joaquim dos Santos Martins.

Eugenia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her son, Antonio J. Martinho and his wife Ida; her daughter, Maria Santos and her husband Richard; six grandchildren - Mark and his spouse Julie, James and his partner Tina, Shaun and his spouse Katy, Sarah and her spouse Robert, Carla and her spouse Dennis, and Karina and her partner Scott; six great grandchildren - Chase, Aiden, Noah, Logan, Samuel, and James; her niece, Sandra Burgo and her husband Kenneth; her nephew, John and Maria Jose Leite; and her great-nieces and great-nephews April, Tanya, Kenneth, Abraham, Lena, Daniel, and David.

Eugenia was dedicated to her faith. She had a zest for life, a love of dance, a contagious laugh, and a warm spirit that drew people to her. Her kindness, generosity, and love will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Main St., Fairhaven followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery.
