Born in Pipestone, Minnesota, a son of the late Edward A. and Ida (Wussow) Baden, he was a longtime Fairhaven resident. George was a machinist for the Rubber Division of the Acushnet Company in New Bedford for 29 years. He served in the Minnesota National Guard, leading him to join the Airforce in August of 1956. He was stationed at Ladd Airforce Base in Fairbanks, Alaska when Alaska became a State. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, New Bedford.
In addition to his loving wife, he was the loving father of Steven J. Baden, Ph.D., of Fairhaven; and the brother of two sisters, Carol Dengler and her husband Ron of Jasper, Minnesota and Cindy Fritz and her husband Larry of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews; He was brother of the late Barbara Baden and Susan Whetstone.
His Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the First Church of the Nazarene, 764 Hathaway Road, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial is Private.
