Glenn A. Hutchings, age 72, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford. He was the loving husband of Christina (Haskins) Hutchings, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage and three children.
Born in Libertyville, Illinois, a son of the late Floyd and Mary Hutchings. He had been a Massachusetts resident since he was 14. Glenn was an exceptional father, and grandpa. Always going above and beyond for his children and his biggest concern was reassurance that his children are happy.
Glenn was the owner, alongside his son Randy of Patriot Pallets in Rochester for many years before retiring. Any free time, Glenn would dedicate to driving around, picking up pallets. An avid football and basketball fan. Glenn especially enjoyed watching the New England Patriots games and the Denver Nuggets. He enjoyed looking up the basketball stats, and asking “who do you think is going to win the next game?” He also enjoyed going fishing and loved anything involving farming, he was especially fond of cows. He loved joking around and always had a new joke every time he saw you. He relished in excitement, looking up new Spanish words to teach his granddaughter. The last words he taught her were, te amo.
In addition to his wife Christina, he is survived by three children, Randy Hutchings, and his wife Kristi of Rochester, Casey Hutchings and her boyfriend Justin St Germain of New Bedford and Serena Hutchings and her fiancé Nicholas Andrade also of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Kylie Francis of Acushnet, Tyler Hutchings of Rochester and Scarlet Andrade of New Bedford; two great grandchildren, Maximus, and Saylor; two sisters, Gloria and Grace and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Gary Hutchings.
Private arrangements are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn Mortuary, Fairhaven.
