

Henry “Hank” V. DePina, 80, of Fairhaven, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at St. Anne’s Hospital following a long illness. He was the loving husband of Marie E. (Barboza) DePina with whom he shared 27 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, son of the late Amancio T. DePina and Carolina (Pinheiro) DePina, he had resided in Bridgewater for many years before moving to Fairhaven 17 years ago.
He was a graduate of Wentworth College where he studied the field of Engineering. He served as a medic in the Army National Guard.
Mr. DePina had worked as an Engineering Manager for Grant Gear in Dedham and Ferguson Perforator in Providence until his retirement.
Henry had a love and passion for tennis, as a player and revered coach. He was known as a teacher of all things to everyone. He was a member of the Fairhaven Tennis Association. Henry was a talented ballroom dancer and square dancer and a member of the Boston Ballroom Society. He enjoyed antique collecting and was known as Mr. Gadget. He had an eye for decorating and fashion and enjoyed his home very much. Henry was a kind and generous man who loved the company of his family and will be missed dearly.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two stepsons, Brett Fortin of Mattapoisett and Eric Fortin and his wife Andrea of Pompano Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Sophia Fortin of Pompano Beach, FL, Bryce and Abigail Fortin of Mattapoisett; two sisters, Carolyn Messina and her husband John of Saugus and Cynthia Pereira and her late husband Bert of So. Weymouth; many nieces and nephews, Stevie, Annie, and Linda and Michael, David, and Jason; along with additional great nephews and nieces; and his "other companion" beloved predeceased dog, Sophie.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 5-8 pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11am in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth.
