In the early 50’s he built his own house and later built a 40-foot fishing boat with a friend. He was awarded the Marian Medal in 2016 for his dedicated service to St. Mary’s Parish of Fairhaven. He enjoyed sailing, gardening and volunteering at the food pantry. He loved food and collected many treasures through the years. He spent his final years passionately making and selling birdhouses. He cherished visiting with friends and could always be found with a warm smile and a story to share. His family loved him dearly and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle Greenway of Fairhaven; a grandson, Ryan Greenway and his wife Joyelle of Fairhaven; a granddaughter, Carey Hicks and her husband Richard of Plymouth; three great-granddaughters, Paislee Greenway, June and Rose Hicks; several nieces and nephews, many good friends and very special neighbors. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Lois Fortier of New Bedford and Agnes Parent of Acushnet, brother and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Jeanne Levasseur of Maynard, and Muriel Goyette of Arizona. He was the father of the late Robert Lacoste and father-in-law of the late Thomas Greenway. Mr. Lacoste was the friendliest, politest man who always had a smile for everyone. I wish I had known him better to hear some of those stories. He lived such a full, interesting life filled with love for his family and friends. He will be missed by so many.
We will hold his family in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. You were so blessed to have such a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. With much love,

I will always remember all the energy that Mr Lacoste had. He was a very active man and I hope to have half the energy when I am older. It was always good to see him at church.
One of my many memories will include talks about taking his wife out to go dancing on Saturday nights. May they now dance every Saturday night in heaven.
Comfort and prayers to his family.
