Jo-Anne Cordeiro

Jo-Anne (Slowik) Cordeiro, age 69, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital on Friday, April 22, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Acushnet and a Fairhaven resident for 29 years, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Slowik and Irene (Kut) Slowik.

Jo-Anne was a stay at home mom most of her life. She enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing, cooking, reading and taking care of her many animals for which she loved dearly. Her greatest gift in life was spending time with her treasured family, especially her grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nursing staff and Hospice workers of St. Luke’s Hospital for taking such good care of Jo-Anne.

She was the beloved wife of Jose Cordeiro with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. Jo-Anne is survived by her children, Melissa Almeida and her husband Nelson Almeida and their daughter Jocelyn Almeida, Danielle Cordeiro and her son Darryn Fernandes, Ann-Marie Hellwege and her husband Michael Hellwege and their two children Abigail Hellwege and Adam Hellwege, Tina Allende and her husband Daniel Allende and their son Gabriel Allende.

She was the Sister of Rosalie (Slowik) Jacintho and the late Mary-Anne (Slowik) DeTerra and the Aunt of Christine Aspin.

Her celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 9 A.M. until 10 A.M. at the Waring Sullivan Fairlawn Funeral Home located at 180 Washington Street in Fairhaven, MA 02719.
