Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Leroy and Mabel (Fielding) Faltus, he was raised in New Bedford and had resided in Fairhaven for nearly 50 years.
Capt. Leroy was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1941 and proudly served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.
He was the third generation owner and operator of Captain Leroy’s Fishing Parties in New Bedford. In his leisure time, Capt. Leroy enjoyed watching sports and loved the company of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his dog, Spunky.
Survivors include his son, Bryon L. Faltus and his wife Lori of Fairhaven; grandchildren, Jessica, Mallori and Corey; great-grandchildren, Lessie Ray, Elijah and Story Laine; and long-time friend, Spooner.
