

Born in New Bedford, Lorraine was the only child of the late John and Anna (Motta) Andrade. She graduated from New Bedford High School and was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Lorraine was the adoring wife of Albert Correia and loving mother of six. She is survived by her children: Cindy Fernandes and her husband David of New Bedford; son David Correia of New Bedford; Tracy Reed and her husband Steve of Acushnet; Kim Lemieux and her husband Jerry of Assonet. She is predeceased by her son Steven Correia and his wife June; and her daughter Michelle Theordore and her husband Jeffrey.
Lorraine will be remembered for her compassion, wisdom, kindness, warmth, and generosity. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed parties, family camping trips, cookouts, and simply sitting quietly in her backyard. She dedicated her time to caring for those around her, loved cooking, was an avid reader, and opened her home to all.Throughout her life, Lorraine was a homemaker, worked as a teacher’s assistant for the New Bedford School Department, and enjoyed participating in Sealab fundraisers. She also worked at the Cove View Restaurant until her retirement when she focused on her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her children are twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by one great-grandchild.
