

Born in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Delgado) Karajohn. He is pre-deceased by five sisters, Alice Sylvia, Lita George, Mary Kopplin, Georgia Sylvia and Annie Katherine Heflin and one brother, John Karajohn. He proudly served in the United States Army.
Teaching himself to play piano at an early age, he joined a rock and roll band and worked with Johnny Olenn and the RedToppers, and then, Rickey and the Four Keys; the latter band which was featured in the movie, Rock A Bye Baby with Jerry Lewis. He played music in Texas, Las Vegas, California, Washington, and New Orleans before moving to Massachusetts and transitioning to pop 40 and dinner music, playing solo at supper clubs across the state. Lou also worked at Revere Copper and Brass in New Bedford for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Monize) Barron-Karajohn. They were happily married for 32 years. They enjoyed traveling and seeking new adventures and his favorite; sampling new restaurants for a nice meal. He is survived also by his devoted daughter, Lana Fagundes and step-daughters, Gwen Barron, Kristi Barron, and Laurie Wilkinson and was a loving dad to all of them. Affectionately known as PapaLou, he has two grandchildren and seven step grandchildren and one great-grandchild and fifteen step great-grandchildren.
His Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 p.m. For online tributes, please visit: www.waring-sullivan.com
